ECU Tuning
Every vehicle is equipped with an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that controls many of the engine’s operations such as spark timing, fuel injection, valve timing, and automatic transmission among others. Tuning the ECU to change the settings and engine behavior to boost performance requires an Engine Management System (EMS) to access the settings of the ECU. Genesis Racing and Development offers EMS units for most high performance makes and models that plug into the ECU harness and allow settings and data to be changed on a computer. This software allows tuners to adjust engine control and power as well as fuel amounts and ignition timing for higher performance.
